It’s NaBloPoMo!

November 1, 2006

This month is NaBloPoMo or National Blog Posting Month.  NaBloPoMo was started as an extension of or alternative to National Novel Writing Month.  During this time, bloggers and writers and challenged to post each day of the month. And the fun doesn’t end there.  Prizes are involved.  If you are interested, it may not be too late to get in on the action or movement shall I say?  Anyway, visit www.fussy.org for more info.  Happy blogging to all participating!

NaBloPoMo

P.S.

Being that I’m new to blogging, if anyone out there know to correctly place a NaBloPoMo button on this site, please share the info.  I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks!

Happy Belated Halloween!

November 1, 2006

I’ve been extremely busy with school related actvities for about a week and a half now-since my last post actually.  My students celebrated Red Ribbon Week and capped it off this past Monday with a school wide assembly which featured the “Just Say No Game Show” hosted and produced by my class.  Boy did that take some effort.  It was hit with a $20 Best Buy gift card (paid for out of my pocket) as the grand prize and smaller prizes featuring a Target gift card,  candy and small toys and games.  In addition the school had a pumpkin decorating contest, which by the way my class won.  Our pumpkin was a hit too!  Although we officially won, we had to share the title of “winner” with one of the elementary classrooms. But, my kids (I often refer to my students as my kids) understood and wanted the younger kids to feel good about their efforts too.  Anyway, we turned our pumpkin into a hamburger which I saw on the site of fellow blogger/friend www.rocrebelgranny.blogspot.com.  Thanks Anne!    I plan to post pictures of it soon and I will list all that was used to create it, just in case anyone else decides that they would like to create a “hamburger” out of a pumpkin next year.
