2006 was just getting underway when tragedy struck. Dr. Man’s mother, a fantastic woman, died unexpectedly. Tragedy struck again only nine months later when a beloved aunt of mine suffered a stroke and tired of suffering from the effects of the stroke and a host of other ailments, she stated to her children that she was “ready to go.” She got her wish and peacefully left this Earth.
We endured loss and saw a few unanticipated and surprising gains in 2006. I know that change happens, people die and people are born, there will always be highs and lows, things to discover and lessons to be learned. I know that life will never be “perfect,” none the less, my wishes for those whom I hold dear in my heart and for all of you who visit this blog is:
that you find joy in the simple things in life,
that you find peace in the midst of chaos,
that you find comfort in moments of sorrow,
that you find courage in times of hardship and despair,
that you remember to carve out time for those whom you hold dear,
that you remember to take time out for yourself,
that you take time to notice and savor the beauty that surrounds you,
that you revel in all that makes you happy,
that this new year brings prosperity your way,
and that this year is one of the happiest years of your life.
Happy New Year!
